Abu Dhabi: In a manifestation of interfaith harmony in the UAE, leaders of different religions joined the Emirates Red Crescent’s iftar distribution drive in Abu Dhabi.

In a video tweeted by Emirates Red Crescent Authority, heads of the upcoming Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi and churches belonging to different Christian denominations (Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants) can be seen distributing iftar to motorists to end their fast.

The video received appreciation from various Twitter users. “Very proud of our UAE Hindu and Christian communities as they participated in Ramadan fast breaking meal distributions with @emiratesrc. This shows how strong, interconnected, and tolerant the UAE is,” tweeted Hassan Sajwani.

“UAE is role model to the world in terms of value of tolerance, peace, security and multiculturalism,” posted another Twitter user, Saldanha.

The Abu Dhabi Centre of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority organised the distribution in cooperation with the Department of Community Development.
