Abu Dhabi: The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi hosted an interfaith cultural evening to mark the holy month of Ramadan.

The event, titled Omsiyyat, took place earlier this week and was attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, along with other distinguished leaders and ambassadors.

Around 200 religious leaders, government officials, diplomats, and community representatives from across the UAE and beyond gathered for the occasion.

The temple, celebrated as a spiritual oasis promoting global harmony, highlighted the values of faith, friendship, unity, and reflection during the fasting month. The evening featured cultural performances, inspiring speeches, and prayers led by Pujya Brahmaviharidas Swami, the head of the temple.

The event provided a powerful platform for fostering mutual respect, dialogue, and understanding among different faith communities. It concluded with a vegetarian suhoor, blending Indian and Arabic cuisines.

Last month, the temple marked its first anniversary, and in April 2024, it will host a similar interfaith event during the holy month.
