Quran commentary translated into Malayalam
Keralite Muslims can now study a commentary of the Holy Quran by famous Egyptian scholars in their native language.
The complete Malayalam translation of the Fi Dhilail Qur'an (In the shadow of Quran), comprises 12 volumes which will be distributed free among Keralites in the Gulf.
Kunhu Mohammed Pulavath, one of the two translators and Director of the Cochin-based Manas Foundation, yesterday told Gulf News that the last three volumes of the book had now been released in Dubai.
He said: "We also intend to distribute the translation among some 20,000 mosques and libraries in Kerala, with the support of sponsors to shoulder the publishing cost."
Pulavath, who is in the UAE in search of sponsors, said that according to teachings of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), all Muslims were obliged to pass on the message of the Holy Quran. The foundation has already distributed some 45,000 volumes.
