Pushto singer performs today

Pakistani Pushto and Urdu singer Rahim Shah will perform at a concert today at Sharjah Expo Centre Arena.

"The show is being held to provide entertainment to the large number of Pushto speaking people in the UAE," said Khawajah Aadil, organiser of the programme and producer of the Pushto service at Radio Asia. Renowned female Pushto singer Wagma will also perform with Rahim Shah at the concert titled 'Zeym Pakthoon' (I am Pakthoon).

Shah gained instant popularity both in the Pushto and Urdu speaking community when his song Pehley tu kabhi kabhi ghum tha hit the top of the charts in Pakistan.

He is one of the new generation of Pathan singers who has developed the traditional folk Pushto music by introducing modern instruments. The show will start at 8pm.
