Working hours of private sector companies to be reduced from eight to six hours

Abu Dhabi: The working hours of private sector companies will be reduced from eight to six hours during the Holy month of Ramadan, without affecting the salaries of employees.

The Labour Minister Saqr Gobash, issued a ministerial circular to private sector companies and establishments on the reduction of work hours in the UAE, which is in accordance with article 65 of the Federal Law No. 8 of 1980 on regulation of work relations and its amendments.

The ministry congratulated President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Their Highnesses Rulers of Emirates, government and people of the UAE on the advent of Ramadan.
