A portal, 'www.alrooh.com', setting out all the requirements needed to lead a life based on Sharia principles, is being developed for launch in early February.
The site, which will eventually have 10,000 pages, will list the Islamic way of doing things at each and every stage of a man's life, and even the daily rituals.
Developed by Dubai-based Al Wafa Group, the site will be available in three languages English, Arabic and Malayalam, the Indian language spoken by the largest expatriate community in the UAE. More languages will be added at various stages, including Chinese.
A board comprising senior Islamic scholars is advising the promoters on the venture. The site will be hosted in India.
"There are increasing instances of Islam being misunderstood and misrepresented in the media, especially after the incidents of September. We felt in these circumstances it was appropriate to initiate this venture," said C. Muneer, chief technical consultant for the project.
Alrooh.com, which was conceived about three months back and means 'the spirit' in Arabic, is scheduled for a full launch in the second week of February.
Naji Al Suwaidi, manager at Al Wafa Group, said: "The portal illustrates everything related to Islam and its lifestyle at your fingertips, just a click away, including the entire physical, mental and psychological deeds of a man who believes in the ideology of Islam.
"It illustrates the various stages of the life cycle of a human being from the pre-birth period to post-death situation and after that, and not merely from cradle to grave."
After the launch, there will be a dedicated team to take care of the content and provide updates as and when necessary, said Muneer.
