DUBAI Some talented amateur photographers in the UAE will get a chance to exhibit their works at an international photography exhibition ‘Photography Live’ at the Dubai World Trade Centre from May 7 to 9.

Emirati Jalal Jamal Bin Saniya who will participate in the event, said: “For me photography is an extension of your personal thoughts and experiences.”

Pakistani photographer Mohammad Baber Afzal, 33, couldn’t agree more.

“Photography is not just about clicking random pictures. The subject should be close to your heart and only then can we capture the right moment.”

Photography Live will also host a number of talks during the three days of the exhibition and one of those will be on ‘Intellectual Property and Legalities’.

Leading the session will be Alina Al Hamdani from Arabian Eye who will speak on how the photography law has not been properly understood in the region.

“Copyrighting is a subject that should be understood by all photographers whether amateur or professional. Very few in the UAE feel the need to be educated in the matter.”

Additionally there will be a series of free, full day professional photography master classes by Nikon throughout the exhibition.
