Dubai: Got five days off and wondering what to do, don't worry. The UAE National Day weekend is packed with concerts, comedy shows, and cultural performances across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Here's what's on.

Beetlejuice The Musical at Etihad Arena (Until November 30)

Catch the final performances of this Broadway hit at Etihad Arena, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. Based on Tim Burton's beloved film, the musical follows Lydia Deetz, a quirky teenager whose life takes a wild turn after meeting a recently deceased couple and a mischievous demon who loves stripes. Variety called it "screamingly good fun," whilst Entertainment Weekly described it as "a feast for the eyes and soul." Beneath all the laughs, it's a heartwarming story about family, love, and making the most of every day. Last show is 30 November, so don't miss out.

Free concerts at City Walk (December 1-2)

City Walk is hosting two big names for free. On December 1 at 8pm, Lebanese singer Diana Haddad takes the stage, and if you're a fan of Arabic pop, you'll know she's had hit songs in every decade since 1992. The next night, December 2 at 8pm, Shamma Hamdan performs. She made history as the first Emirati woman to become a finalist on Arabs Got Talent, and Khaleeji music fans shouldn't miss this one.

Throughout December 1-3, City Walk will also feature traditional Emirati dances and performances, with musicians and dancers creating a proper carnival atmosphere.

Balqees at Dubai Festival City Mall (December 2)

Head to Festival Bay at Dubai Festival City Mall on December 2 to catch Balqees live in concert. She'll be performing hits like 'Enta,' 'Ahlan Ya Mama,' and 'Alf Rooh' songs that have made her one of Arabic music's leading voices. The evening wraps up with a fireworks display celebrating the 54th Eid Al Etihad.

Comedy nights

Ali Al Sayed: Alphabet Soup (November 30) – The award-winning comedian returns with lightning-fast wit and sharp observations on identity, language, and everyday absurdities. Rolling Stone named him one of the 'Funniest People of the Year,' and he's been featured on Comedy Central and BBC World.

Samay Raina: Still Alive & Unfiltered (November 29-30) – Fresh from a massive world tour, Samay brings his brand new stand-up show to Dubai for two nights.

Theatre and traditional performances

Ayal Iblees at Dubai Opera (December 1-2) – This hit Kuwaiti comedy follows Iblees sending his son to tempt humans, only for everything to go hilariously wrong. You can expect slapstick humour, unexpected twists, and sharp social satire.

The Lost Mirror at Zabeel Theatre (December 1) – A Russian musical production suitable for adults and children over six. The story follows a magical mirror that helps owners fulfil impossible desires, featuring video decorations with unique illustrations.

Ayala and Harbiya Dancers (December 1-3) – Catch these traditional Emirati performances at over 20 malls citywide, including Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Festival City Mall, City Walk, and Ibn Battuta Mall. Male performers hold bamboo canes and move to drum rhythms in dances that embody Emirati heritage.

Whether you're after big concerts, comedy, or cultural performances, there's something happening every night this National Day weekend.
