Dubai: Diwali, or the Festival of Lights is here, and Dubai has offers aplenty for shoppers and diners.

Speaking to Gulf News, Mohammed Feras Arayqat, Associate Vice President, Retail & Strategic Alliances at Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), said, “DFRE has been proudly presenting Diwali in Dubai for many years, with the aim of creating an optimal mix of activities, deals, discounts, chances to win, gastronomy and experiences. We want to give both residents and visitors the opportunity to honour their culture with friends and family.”

He said during this special season, residents and visitors can find “amazing offers on gold, jewellery, gifts, and fashion at shops, malls, and markets throughout the city. With Indian-themed menus in restaurants, exciting raffles, and other activities, the Festival of Lights is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy quality time with your family and friends in Dubai. It’s a chance to create lasting memories while embracing culture and traditions.”

According to him, many favourite destinations are offering delicious treats during Diwali, whether it be limited-edition menus or signature dishes. “For those interested in fine-dining experiences some of the city’s famed Indian restaurants like Armani/Amal and Carnival by Tresind are offering specifically curated Diwai menus. Or for traditional flavours and favourites, there are also a host of restaurants across the city pulling out all the stops for the Festival of Lights, with special deals and seasonal menus at Punjab Grill Dubai, Asha’s, Bombay Borough, and many more. For great food on a budget, there are also some fantastic deals at Dhaba Lane Restaurants, Yummy Dosa, Jaffer Bhais Dubai to name just a few.”

He said there are many offers and special discounts on gold, jewellery, gifts, and fashion at various citywide retailers. “For example, get fantastic discounts of up to 50 per cent on a unique Diwali jewellery collection from participating retailers with the Dubai Jewellery Group. Additionally, shoppers can receive a complimentary gold coin when they purchase diamond and pearl jewellery from seasonal collections at participating outlets,” he said.

He also let on that the Dubai Shopping Malls Group is giving shoppers the opportunity to win a total of Dh100,000 in 24-karat gold coins, with 20 lucky winners getting the chance to strike gold. You can also enter a digital raffle by spending Dh200 or more at select shopping malls, he added.

He said City Centre Deira and City Centre Mirdif will be marking Diwali till November 12. “There are great retail offers and Diwali deals to explore, and also the chance to enter a daily draw for a chance to win a gold coin with all spends over Dh300. At City Centre Al Shindagha, spending Dh200 or more allows shoppers to enter a draw for two Air Arabia tickets by scanning their receipts on the SHARE app. Additionally, there’s the chance to earn bonus SHARE points, and elevate your shopping experience. There are numerous opportunities to win gold, such as when shopping for jewellery worth Dh500 or more at select outlets participating in the Damas Diwali Promotion.
