Woman earlier contacted authorities expressing her desire to find and meet her father
Sharjah: A heartfelt appeal and a swift, compassionate response by Sharjah Police have ended a separation that lasted more than three decades.
In a touching story of hope and reunion, the Sharjah Police – through the Department of Community Protection and Prevention – successfully reunited a woman with her father after 35 years apart. The emotional reunion came after the woman, who lives outside the UAE, reached out to the police asking for help to find and meet her father, whom she had not seen since birth due to complicated family circumstances.
Brigadier General Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director General of the Department of Community Protection and Prevention, said this humanitarian initiative reflects Sharjah Police’s commitment to family unity and social support. “This case represents the human and social role we play in handling sensitive family matters and helping people rebuild broken connections,” he said.
Brigadier Ahmed Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Community Protection Department, shared more details: “We received a heartfelt message from the woman expressing her wish to meet her father after all these years. A specialized team from our Family and Social Issues Unit was immediately formed to handle the case.”
The team contacted the woman directly and worked to remove any obstacles that might delay the reunion – even providing a flight ticket to ensure she could travel smoothly. They also arranged a private and safe space for the meeting, with social support experts on-site to guide both parties through the emotional moment.
“This reunion is a result of our continued efforts to support family stability and address social cases with deep human dimensions,” said Brigadier Al Marri.
