Dubai: Popular cricketer Robin Uthappa moved to Dubai in March this year. His wife Shheethal had recently delivered their second baby. But she was also diagnosed with post-partum depression.

Between Uthappa’s tour commitments and the challenges that Shheethal was going through, setting up their new home in the Arabian Ranches was a Herculean task. In fact, much of their stuff lay untouched in their home in Bengaluru from where they shifted because they could not get down to sorting the stuff, have them shipped and unpacked in Dubai.

But in what was a sheer case of coincidence, they met a home organiser at a common friend’s place, and decided to rope her in to do the needful.

“It was the best decision that we took,” said Uthappa, who can’t thank the organiser, Raina Jain, from BlessTheMess.in, enough.

“I was back from a tour and could not believe my eyes when I was shown my walk-in closet,” he recalled. Even by his highly organised standards, what he encountered was something “incredible”. A place for everything and everything in its place - whether it was his jerseys, caps, T-shirts or jeans, shoes, watches, and perfumes.

“In just a matter of three days, everything had been neatly stacked and meticulously labelled too. Even the sorting and packing back in Bengaluru was done by the organiser,” he said.

For Shheethal, the help could not have been more timely, given her condition. “It was a huge burden off my shoulders. And till such time, I never knew that you could get professional help to organise your personal belongings.”

Jain, who is a chartered accountant by profession but a home organiser by passion, said she found her calling after being inspired by an online international series on how professional organisers transform spaces.

“My partner Zuweina Kapasi, also a CA, and I studied the subject and began creating customised plans to organise spaces at homes, offices, putting in place simple systems that worked and were easy to maintain,” she said.

“We declutter and organise any kind of space from bedrooms, kitchens and closets, to bathrooms, playrooms and garages. We even tackle paper and digital clutter. And for those with travel anxiety, we pack and organise their bags to optimise baggage allowance too,” she added.
