How Dubai Airports helped the passenger get over his phobia
Dubai: Extreme fear of flying, which prevented a man from taking a plane for five years, has finally flown home from Dubai, thanks to Dubai Airport officials.
Narrating the unusual story, Ahmed Abdulbaqi, Duty Officer, Terminal Service Delivery, at Dubai Airports said, “We once noticed someone running around in the airport, so we approached him to find out what was happening. The man told us that for the fifth time, they had booked a ticket for his brother to return home, but every time, when they came to the airport, he would get worried, could not breathe and refused to travel.”
The officer said the passenger was afraid of flying.
He said it was essential to understand his fears and provide him the necessary support to overcome his phobia.
Accordingly, Dubai Airports officials, whose hospitality is well known, did what it took to help the person overcome his fears.
All was well that ended well, and the impossible became possible: The passenger eventually took a flight back home.
The man whom Abdulbaqi had approached even wrote to him upon reaching their destination.
“We have reached home safely. My brother was good in the entire flight. You were really a mediator and an angel who Allah sent for us,” the passenger wrote.
