Prizes of over Dh100,000 must be personally claimed against verification within 180 days
Dubai: The latest and third draw of The UAE Lottery, held on January 11, had a total of 11,368 winners, as against 12,329 winners in the second draw and 29,080 winners in the first draw.
While there have been no matches for the Dh100 million jackpot in any of the draws so far, the January 11 draw recorded a first - a Dh1 million winner.
There were five winners for Dh100,000, 85 for Dh1,000 and 11,270 for Dh100 prizes.
But how do these winners get their prize money?
While not all winners share their experience in public, some have come forward to do so, as is evident on the UAE Lottery’s posts on X.
According to the lottery operator, prizes of up to Dh100,000 are paid directly into the account of the winners. Prizes of more than Dh100,000, must, however, be claimed by contacting the UAE Lottery at support@theuaelottery.ae or 800 2365. “We may require such prizes to be claimed in person.” says the operator.
Also, according to The UAE Lottery, winners have 180 days to claim a prize, after which they will no longer be entitled to it.
“We will not be liable to pay you any prize in certain circumstances, which include, without limitation, where you have not claimed your prize within 180 days, your entry was dishonest or illegal or you do not provide us with any requested information to verify your claim,” the operator clearly states.
Information needed for verification may include facial scans or equivalent visual identification of the player for facial recognition purposes and payment details, along with a proof of entitlement to claim the prize.
