Since its launch in September 2024, the ADSSA has received 515 applications
Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi’s Social Support Authority (ADSSA) has unveiled a new initiative aimed at supporting Emirati couples embarking on their marital journey.
The easy marriage loan, offering up to Dh150,000 with no interest or fees, is designed to help young couples establish stable, financially secure marriages.
Since its launch in September 2024, the ADSSA has received 515 applications, with 58% meeting all eligibility criteria, 32% failing to qualify, and 10% still under review.
Emirati family growth
The loan is part of the larger Emirati Family Growth program, which aims to reduce the financial burden on citizens planning to marry. This initiative not only promotes family stability but also seeks to foster a culture of affordable weddings, enhancing the quality of life for Emirati families and encouraging marriage and childbirth.
Who qualifies
To qualify for the loan, applicants must meet nine mandatory conditions outlined by the ADSSA, including being UAE nationals, registering with the “Medeem” platform, and adhering to specific age and salary requirements.
Additionally, the loan offers a unique benefit: Dh50,000 of the loan will be written off after five years if the couple has two children during that period.
The Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development (DCD) also highlighted the long-term benefits for newly-weds. Those who meet the conditions can use the loan to plan a wedding that aligns with traditional Emirati values and personal needs, helping them begin their married life with less financial strain.
Extended maternity leave
Moreover, the Family Growth Program (Namo) includes several other initiatives aimed at supporting Emirati families, such as extended maternity leave, housing loan discounts for families with multiple children, and rental assistance for newly-weds. With a focus on family cohesion and economic development, these initiatives are set to strengthen the fabric of Emirati society while promoting growth and stability in family life.
