Most 21-year-olds are still in school. They hope to one day graduate and become rich and famous. The thought of being your own boss surely appeals to every high school/university level student, with career aspirations of their own. But that's for most 21-year-olds.
Ajay Sujanani is not your average 21-year-old. For one, he's not still in school. And, he's his own boss.
Having taken over the reins of SHE, a family department store in Dubai, from his dad Rajan Sujanani, two years ago, Ajay's managed to bring in an unbelievable amount of change.

Take for example the recent addition to the shop: Decorative mobile phone pouches. At an affordable price range between Dhs 10 and Dhs 20, the pouches are both far more attractive and affordable than the covers available in mobile phone shops.

"The concept was simple. UAE is one of the largest mobile users in the world," he explains. "It's also the fashion capital of the Gulf. Combine the two features and this was a product just waiting to be introduced."

The covers are specially made for SHE by designers from Hong Kong. These pouches offer a wide variety including party pouches as well as casual carry pouches. There are also pouches with cartoon motifs and denim pouches for kids.

"The mobile pouches are already available in the SHE department store and plans are afoot to branch out and sell them in other places as well," says Ajay. "I've tried to make the phone pouches as affordable as possible. The aim is to get people to buy more than one pouch."

Although most of the designs cater to women, there are quite a few pouches to be used by the men as well. The designs vary from leather and studded mobile pouches for the men, to glitter, beaded, denim, embroidered and crocheted for the women.
