Not paying heed to rumours is a means of protecting society, Abu Dhabi Judicial Department says

Authority points out some of the most common reasons why people spread rumours

Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has warned against the sharing of unverified, unreliable information and rumours.

“[Not paying heed to] rumours is [a means of protecting the country] and society,” the ADJD said in a post on its social media channels.

The authority also pointed out the following as some of the most common causes behind why people spread rumours:

Idleness

Unemployment

Ignorance

As a joke

Irresponsible behaviour

Hateful and hostile behaviour

Seeking fame and attention

Making predictions
