What is your new four-week shadow training programme about?

It is a behaviour management course designed for shadow teachers and teaching assistants who work closely with children having different learning abilities.

What are the areas that will be covered under the programme?

The preparatory course equips teachers with practical strategies to deal with children having behavioural issues. The programme teaches them how to motivate students with distinct learning abilities. There will be a hands-on introduction to basic behaviour management and the teachers will also be taught safety procedures for meltdowns in autistic students.

How will you be involved in the programme?

I will be leading the programme. I am a licensed educational psychologist and winner of the Princess Haya Award for Special Education in the Outstanding Educational Psychologist category for 2016-2017.

Is this programme approved by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority?

Yes. It supports the authority’s policy of inclusion for children with behavioural issues.

What is the registration deadline for the course?

September 10. The month-long course will start in October. For details, write to info@lexiconreadingcenter.org
