New timings were announced for the Public Transport Department, Markets and Abattoirs Departments, Public Libraries, Zoo and Public Parks and Recreation to be followed during Ramadan.

Abdul Aziz Malik, Director of Public Transport Department, said the department will run on all routes until midnight during Ramadan.

He said the move comes as part of an effort to provide the public with the best transport options to suit all occasions. Malik also wished the public on the occasion of Ramadan.

He said the new time schedules will come into effect from the first day of Ramadan.

New timetables will be available at all the bus stations and at the Customer Service Centre in the Dubai Municipality Centre in Karama. The Markets and Abattoirs Department has also announced a change of timings at the municipality abattoirs.

Humaid Al Marri, Director of Markets and Abattoirs Department, said abattoirs will function from 8.30am to 3.30pm during Ramadan.

He said the department is keen to protect public health and provide hygienic and safe meat.

The municipality's abattoirs are equipped with modern equipment to provide hygienic services. Mohammed Jassim Al Eraidi, Head of Public Libraries Section, said public libraries will be open from 9am to 2pm and from 7pm to midnight.

Ismail Al Banna, Head of Public Parks and Recreation Section, said public parks will be open from 8.30am to 1.30pm from Wednesday to Saturday and from 2.30 pm to 1.30am on Thursdays and Fridays.

Dr. Reza Khan, Head of Zoo Section, said visiting hours of Dubai Zoo will be from 10am to 5pm, except on Tuesdays.
