Dance and music show in aid of children with special needs tomorrow
A four-hour charity show, Music for a Cause, will be held at Our Own English High School, Dubai, tomorrow. It is being organised by the school to raise funds for the children of Al Noor Centre, Rashid Paediatric Centre and Dubai Centre for Special Needs.
Tickets for this music and dance programme, which will begin at 6.30pm on the basketball court of the school, are priced at Dhs 10.
The whole programme is divided into three categories, each featuring students, parents and teachers and former students of the school.
Geeta Rajagopal, who has been heavily involved in organising this show, said students from primary level to Grade XI will be participating in the programme.
The evening will feature songs by children from Grade V to XI. There will also be a dance number, Cotton Eyed Joe, by little children and semi-classical and classical dances by girls, in addition to several other items.
Ex-students will be putting up a fashion show. Parents will also be taking part in the function by singing duets and there will be a dance number jointly put up by them and teachers.
Madhav Rao, principal of the school, said the school have been raising funds for children with special needs for the past five years. Every year it has been an experiment and this year every effort is made to improve all aspects of the show, he added.
At the show tomorrow, there will be seating for 8,000 people and the programme will be compered by DJs of FM. There will also be many food stalls.
