Dubai: Dubai Municipality and the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department have agreed to greater cooperation in training and developing human resources at both government organisations.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed yesterday by Engineer Hussain Nasser Lootah, Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality and Dr Hamad Al Shaibani, Director General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, to exchange knowledge and skills in a bid to enhance performance and strengthen the strategic partnership between the two.

The MoU will facilitate cooperation between the two departments in various fields of mutual concern, thereby accomplishing creative integration in human resource management.

"The MoU comes as part of the municipality's commitment to boost cooperation between the civic body and the different local government and non-government establishments in Dubai in its policy of enhancing the strategic partnership among them," said Lootah.

Skills

It will also help make the best use of available skills and potentials of each department including human expertise, as well as the appliances and equipment in training and developing human resources. It will further facilitate exchange of expertise, information and lectures between the two and coordination of efforts at seminars and scientific conferences in which the two are attending.

Both will conduct joint training programmes, seminars, meetings and workshops and will coordinate in this regard well ahead of their timing in order to serve objectives of the MoU.

Both departments will also promote joint initiatives such as study of the best ways to market training programmes designed by the two inside and outside the country.
