Dubai: An opinion poll has been conducted to analyse the media consumption pattern among university students, the Dubai Press Club (DPC) announced yesterday.

DPC, organisers of the Arab Media Forum, will reveal the results of the survey during a workshop at the Arab Media Forum to be held on May 8-9.

The survey looks into the students' most preferred sources of information and news from a range of media channels such as newspapers, TV stations, magazines, radio, and digital media, which include news sites, social networks and mobile phones.

The forum, themed ‘Arab Media: Exposure and transformation', includes the participation of prominent journalists, academics and decision makers from around the world.

The survey included more than 1,000 students, from the age group of 18-23 years, from the University of Ajman, Al Ghurair University, American University in Dubai, American University in Sharjah, Canadian University, Hamdan e-University, Sorbonne University, Dubai University, American University in UAE, Sharjah University and Higher Colleges of Technology.

The study supplements the research efforts of the organisation of the Arab Media Outlook, which chronicles and tracks the changes, developments and media consumption patterns in about 17 Arab countries.
