Moller wins DDF Golf World Cup
Ulrik Moller won the 10th Anniversary Dubai Duty Free Golf World Cup by a 4 point winning margin in the 36-hole two-day stableford event.
With the first round taking place at The Montgomerie Dubai, Moller ended the first day, 2 strokes ahead of his nearest rivals with a fantastic points total of 44. Tied for 2nd place were former champion, Steve Flanagan and Gurbax Singh on 42 points.
The tournament was evenly poised as it moved to Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club for the second day. Over the two days, Moller posted a second round score of 38 points to win the prestigious title as Overall Champion.
Gurbax Singh settled for 1st place in the Men's category adding an impressive 36 points to his opening round. Just behind Singh were previous winners Jan Baljet and Steve Flanagan who came 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Equally impressive was the scoring in the Ladies category when Nancy Miller triumphed with rounds of 35 and 42 to finish Best Lady by a 7 point winning margin from Joan Legnar.
In the seniors category "newly joined" Bharat Godkhindi took the honours by virtue of a better second round in the countback as he had tied on the same mark as Fred Taylor who had to settle for runner up position.
Peter Monaghan won an even closer battle for the title of Super Senior.
Winning the daily prizes for the men at The Montgomerie Dubai was John Kammerman while Anne Reynolds scored 33 to edge out Margaret Hope by 2 points.
At the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, Adel Zarouni (38 pts) won, again on a countback from 2nd placed Gary Maxwell. First place in the ladies category was Eileen Meade.
