Mohammed attends Ground Forces ceremony

Lt. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, attended here on Tuesday night at the Zayed City military camp a party held by the Ground Forces Command to mark the UAE Ground Forces Unification Day.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of senior army officers and distinguished guests. Brigadier Saeed Mohammed Khalaf Al Rumaithy, Commander of the UAE Ground Forces, who received Sheikh Mohammed upon his arrival at the camp, thanked the latter for joining them to celebrate the happy occasion.

He praised Sheikh Mohammed for playing a significant role in the effective building and equipping the forces, which, he reiterated, are capable of standing up to any challenge.

Brigadier Al Rumaithy renewed the allegiance of the Ground Forces to remain faithful and committed to the service of the country and its leadership, led by President His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Sheikh Mohammed inspected the armoury on display and reviewed the latest improvement and development made on them.

Meanwhile, Brigadier Al Rumaithy attended here yesterday morning the graduation ceremony on various training courses for junior and senior officers, held at the at the infantry school.

The commander of the UAE Ground Forces, at the end of the ceremony, distributed certificates to the graduates and various prizes to distinguished students.
