Dubai: The Ministry of Health organised the Leader Development Programme to develop the skills of the second- and third-tier management in line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Shaikh Mohammad attended the programme and listened to views about the training programme in which experts and specialists from reputed international training institutions are delivering presentations on development of leadership skills.

The programme, which was launched in July and continues till the end of December, is training more than 140 senior officials at the Ministry.

Shaikh Mohammad urged the participants to mobilise their energies and employ their knowledge and expertise in the service of their country and agencies.

Legislation

Shaikh Mohammad said: "The next phase will require concentration on drafting health legislation and policies, especially after the recent launch of the federal health authority which will operate and manage hospitals at par with international standards which meet demands of our society, cope with its progress and achieve government plans and expectations."

Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Health, were also present at the programme. Dr Hassan thanked Shaikh Mohammad for encouraging the youth to steam ahead in their quest for excellence and creativity.
