A student from The Model School Abu Dhabi is one of three who came top in the Gulf in the Kerala State Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) exams held in April.

Shreya P. Sing secured 584 marks out of 600, standing first in the Gulf and eighth in the state of Kerala, along with Binsa Basheer of Dubai's Gulf Model School and Shahul Hameed Abobakar of New Indian Model School, Sharjah.

All the three students scored 97.33 per cent. The second rank in the region is shared by two students from Dubai's Varkey International Private School, with a score of 581 marks.

The Model School, Abu Dhabi, also secured the third rank in the region and the 14th in the state, with Vinit Jayarajan securing 578 marks, or 96.3 per cent.

The Model School Abu Dhabi, which is the only school in Abu Dhabi offering the Kerala syllabus, sent up 124 students for the exam and achieved a 100 per cent pass percentage.

Of them, 85 students got distinction, 37 first class and the remaining two second class. Nirmin Ahmed Ali secured the second position in the school with 574 marks.
