Dubai: There were no injuries or fatalities in the fire that broke out in Ras Al Khor late Tuesday evening.

Eye-witnesses and emergency workers said the fire started late on Tuesday night. A team from the Dubai Civil Defence was still at the scene of the fire on Wednesday morning, completing the cooling process so that the fire would not start again.

A spokesperson at Dubai Civil Defence said the operations room received the call about the fire at 10.15pm on Tuesday. “The fire was put under control at 12:14am,” the spokesperson said.

The warehouse, he said, contained car spare parts, clothes, foodstuff and building materials.

Teams from Al Rashidiya, Al Karama, Al Quoz and Al Ghusais civil defence stations took part in the fire fighting efforts.

A man at the scene, who asked not to be named, said that there were three people in the warehouse when the fire broke out on Tuesday.

There was a distinctive smell of burnt materials in the air, and the warehouse had nothing but charred rubble.

No one from the company was available on the scene to comment and attempts to contact the company failed.
