Man killed, 15 students hurt in Dubai road crash

Dubai: An Asian man was run over by a school bus on Sunday morning when he was parked on the hard shoulder of Shaikh Mohammad bin Zayed Road to change his car tyre.

Colonel Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of the Dubai Traffic Police Department, said the crash also injured 15 of the students on the bus, in addition to a woman who was in the now-deceased man’s car.

The man was killed on impact. The woman sustained severe injuries, while some of the children were mildly injured and the others were moderately injured. 

The accident occurred at 8am, when the man had tyre trouble and parked on the right-side hard shoulder before Al Khawaneej exit on Shaikh Mohammad bin Zayed Road, Abu Dhabi bound. Read the full report
