Man drowns off RAK beach

Ras Al Khaimah: An Asian man drowned off the Ras Al Khaimah beach on Monday morning.

Major Tareq Al Sharhan, head of the ambulance and rescue department, said the department received a call on Monday morning from a relative of the victim asking for help.

A rescue team reached the site and rescued the victim.

The victim was given first aid at the scene before being moved to hospital where he died shortly after admission.

The victim was swimming in a prohibited area.

The victim’s body was transported to the hospital morgue.
