Man drowns off Ajman beach

Sharjah: A 42-year-old Pakistani man drowned off Ajman beach late on Friday afternoon, a Sharjah Police official told Gulf News.

The body of the victim, identified as M.K., was recovered by the police rescue team and moved to the Al Kuwaiti Hospital in Sharjah as it's the nearest hospital.

The official said the police received a call from a beach goer about the accident at around 5pm. Witnesses said the victim was struggling to swim.

Police warned all community members to avoid the swimming in prohibited area.
