Maatouk, Maison Du Cafe like Etisalat a day earlier, kept their hopes alive in the six-team Ghantoot Gold Cup Polo Tournament.

In Saturday's match, Maatouk, who had lost their opening encounter to Al Manara Jewellery, came back with a fighting display to win 11-8 against Yas Perfumes.

In a match of fluctuating fortunes, Maatouk took a 3-0 lead only to go behind 4-5 midway through the fourth chukka.

It was only in the final chukka that Maatouk gained the edge when their professional player Miguel Delia scored a brace to pull away to victory.

Humeid Drai, whose hat-trick went in vain against Al manara, once again had a good game while Fahd Al Qubeisi, standing in for Sheikh Khalid Al Qassimi had a brilliant game scoring three early goals. Delia came up with five goals in the latter stages to end the fighting display of the Yas Perfumes team.

For Yas Perfumes Saleh Al Geziry had a good game and so did Mansour Abu Al Houl and John, who replaced their professional player Fakondo Castannola.

Maatouk have completed their two matches in the three-team group. They now await the result of today's match between Yas Perfumes and Al manara.

If Yas Perfumes win, there will be a three-way tie and goal average will decide the finalist from this group. After a rest day tomorrow, the final will be played on Wednesday.
