Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries has donated products amounting to more than Dh2 million for the tsunami victims.
The medicine will be sent immediately to Sri Lanka, said Abdul Razzaq Al Yousef, managing director of Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries, known as Julfar.
"We have established a committee to specify the requirements of products for such natural disasters," he said.
"We prepared several different products that have been specially chosen and have been given to the Sri Lankan Ambassador in the UAE."
Al Yousef said Julfar donates medicine to countries that have been affected by natural calamities, and it is prepared to meet the humanitarian pharmaceutical needs of those hit hardest.
The Julfar donation will not be the final step to help those affected countries, he added.
