Five Egyptian talents team up as 'Talaat' Show during Dubai Summer Surprises to create a display for children with a humorous feel to it. The show is divided into several parts: a magician, acrobats, puppet shows, and a workshop for children to learn circus skills.
Talaat Atiya, singer and leader of the group said, "The idea behind our show comes from my deep belief of working for children, and that is to present a bunch of circus skills whilst retaining their smile."
Atiya has a history of working for children. He is one of the few people who began children's programmes on Egyptian TV. "I started the first children's programme 15 years after TV started in Egypt. I did several programmes like DoRiMi and Sandoa el Donya and through these programmes I discovered children like Sherihan, and Laila Elwy, who are famous actresses now." Besides children, Atiya works with actresses in several series and programmes in the meantime.
Magdy Saleh, an acrobatics specialist, said, "I have been working in acrobatics for 35 years, and it's the only thing that has attracted me. This work requires good health, excellent fitness, and commitment."
At the show Saleh juggles balls, bottles, and fire sticks. Walid Ashour from Egypt also participates in the show by juggling on a tall bicycle, and shooting ping-pong balls from his mouth.
Magdy Abdel Rahim, the show magician, is a man of many talents. With his own style of entertaining children, he's a magician who amazes them and also makes them laugh. He has also used his talent to create dolls for a puppet show that contains popular characters like Nancy Agram, Shaban Abdel Rahim, Nabeel Shoeel, Nawal El Zoghby, Fifi Abdou and Anna.
"These characters are more fun than characters that do not exist," said Abdel Rahim. Samir Ashoor, violin player, music composer and player, completes the show.
Atiya said, "Our workshop is a demonstration of some tricks and games. We teach them how to be fast while doing magic, and how to do some of our acrobatics like juggling balls. Children are happy when they do some of our work."
Talaat Show is an international children entertainment show created by five talents, each famous in his field, sharing the same belief of working for children despite their different educational backgrounds. The show will run till the end of the Summer Surprises in different centres.
