The National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority (Tanmia) yesterday celebrated the graduation of 25 UAE national jobseekers who attended the administrative skills course conducted by Dubai police.
"We hope this course has helped all the participants and added to their knowledge and skills," said Eisa Ali Bin Salem Al Za'abi, Manager, Dubai office manager for Tanmia and Acting Director of Employment and Development.
"Our main goal in offering such courses is to qualify nationals seeking employment to get jobs and excel in their performance. We will help these participants seek jobs afterwards," he added.
As part of the graduation ceremony, Al Za'abi and Second Lieutenant Majid Al Bardan of the Dubai police held discussions with the participants, during which they were asked to evaluate the course and lecturers.
Participants said the 10-day course was too short. On the other hand, participants agreed that the course helped them develop secretarial and computer skills, time management, decision-making and writing skills.
"I applied for this course to learn new things," said Hasan Habib, 29. "Through this course, I developed my decision-making skills and I learned to deal with people as well."
"This is the first course I have ever applied for," said Ahmad Ali, 25. "After entering it, everything changed for me as I learned things I never knew existed. I learned public relations skills and how to learn from my mistakes."
"I applied for this course to learn customer service skills because most organisations require it for job seekers," said Noof Abdullah, 22. "I learned about dealing with customers, making decisions and solving problems."
