Jaw-dropping routines to be part of aerobatic air show in Al Ain
Al Ain: Visitor tickets have gone on sale for this month's Al Ain Aerobatic Show that includes the Middle East's first Aero GP series - Aviation's Formula One.
The four-day event, considered the curtain-raiser to the global air sports calendar, will be held at Al Ain International Airport every afternoon from January 28 to 31.
Participation
Daily tickets for the show are Dh40 per adult and Dh25 for children between three and 10 years. The show is free for children under three. Tickets are available via www.timeoutabudhabi.com or the Toll Free hotline 800 44 444.
An Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) spokesperson said world class teams from 15 countries will be taking part in this year's air show to perform awe-inspiring routines.
The British Swift Glider Display Team will also make its regional debut and demonstrate that planes do not need an engine to perform gravity-defying aerobatics.
Skycats the fearless wing-walkers from Scandinavia will also cut through the desert air in their bright yellow plane.
The show organisers have made special arrangements for visitors on the ground.
Daily family activities include a remote-control aircraft display where small planes mimic their larger cousins and a dedicated display area where enthusiasts can get up close to aircraft used by Al Ain's Aviation Academy.
"The children's play area, restaurant zone and media centre are all bigger this year," said a spokesperson.
