Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) wishing to learn or upgrade their computer skills during their leisure hours will soon see their dream come true with a Philippines IT School expanding abroad.
Chit Salazar, President and Chief Executive Officer of the STI Education Services Group, said his company has plans of opening up partly owned and affiliate sites in Asia, the Middle East and the United States.
The STI would need between $30 million and $50 million to set up a computer school for OFWs in countries like Pakistan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam, and Saudi Arabia, he said.
It has an education centre in Bangladesh after it tied-up last month with the Dhaka Young Men's Christian Association.
In the U.S., Salazar said the STI would like to meet the demand for basic computer education for blue-collar workers and housewives who need to use them in their everyday activities.
