The Maldives and Romania have been added to the list of international destinations connected to the UAE through ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) link by Etisalat.
The new additions have brought the total number of countries to 50 with which Etisalat has an ISDN link.
The ISDN network provides end to end connectivity to support a wide range of services including voice, video and data to the entire Etisalat customer database including corporate, medium business enterprises or private consumers.
ISDN offers a higher bandwidth for transmission than the standard fixed lines, providing superior quality for voice, data and video uses. It also offers fast 64k and 128k upstream and downstream access to the Internet.
The link also offers inexpensive digital access to the worldwide telecommunications network on a dial up basis.
ISDN access to the Internet allows faster access to upload or download data, saving time and cost and it is also capable of supporting several other applications, including video and audio conferencing, the PABX networking security, education and health care.
Etisalat is a highly successful provider of advanced communications solutions, offering multi-media and value added services in fixed line and GSM, Internet services and e-commerce solutions, he added.
