A large group of expatriate Iranians gathered in front of their consulate in Dubai for a second day on Monday to protest what they believe was “rigged'' election results back home.
The group carried placards, chanted slogans and called President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a “dictator''.
Many of the protesters said they voted for the Mir Hossein Mousavi, the main rival of Ahmadinejad, who claimed victory in the disputed election.
The protesters defied Dubai's protest ban on Monday, a day after a similar group gathered in front of the Iranian consulate.
The gathering caused traffic snarls on Al Wasl Road.
Protesters gathered for about two hours in front of the consulate under the watchful eyes of anti-riot police.
Most protesters declined to give their full names for fear of reprisals.
Some demonstrators vowed to come back again to stage another protest.
