The Central Hindi Directorate has invited applications from non-Hindi speaking Indians and foreigners for admission to the course, which will be taught in English, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali.
An Indian Embassy official said that the course offers two certificate and diploma programmes equivalent to 'Praveen' and 'Pragya' courses.
The minimum age for Indians and foreigners is 15 years, and for children of Indians residing abroad, 10 years. A Rs50 fee from candidates in India and $50 or £30 from candidates abroad is charged for each course.
The fee, payable to the Director of the Central Hindi Directorate in New Delhi, can be remitted by crossed Indian Postal Order or bank draft drawn at New Delhi. Fees sent through money order or cheque will not be accepted.
Applicants can submit their application forms along with the fee until September 15. The application forms and additional information are available from the Indian embassy or by calling 02-6664 800.
