Sameer Ahmed, 39, works as a safety officer in Riyadh
Dubai: An Indian expat in Saudi Arabia has struck lucky in the Big Ticket weekly e-draw, just three months after he began trying his luck in the popular promotion.
“Oh! Big Ticket. Oh! Mashallah, Alhamdulillah,” exclaimed Sameer Ahmed, as show host Bouchra broke the news that he had won Dh50,000.
Hailing from Hyderabad, the 39-year-old has been working as a safety officer in Riyadh. “I have been living in Saudi Arabia for the past 15 years. This is unbelievable. A very nice news for me,” said Ahmed, who won with ticket number 032096.
However, he came to know about Big Ticket promotion only three months ago through a YouTube video. Since then, he has been buying tickets on his own.
“I’ve been purchasing them alone, so I won’t be sharing the prize with anyone.”
Ahmed participated in the ongoing bundle offer, which gave him three tickets. His lucky win came from the free ticket included in the bundle.
“To believe that my luck paid off in just three months is an indescribable feeling. I feel truly blessed, happy, and grateful to Big Ticket. But I was expecting to win the grand prize.”
With the prize money, he plans to bring his family to live with him in Riyadh and pay off pending loans. He’s forwarded his winning video to all his friends and is actively encouraging them to start taking part and to try their luck.
“Big Ticket has brought me good fortune, so I’ll definitely continue participating,” Ahmed added.
Meanwhile, another winner from India, Sushmita Sharma, also got lucky. She purchased two tickets and received a third one for free as part of the bundle offer. It was the free ticket, number 044870 that secured her win.
