I did not crash, says pilot
Umm Al Quwain: A man claiming to be the pilot of an aircraft that appeared to have crash-landed on Wednesday has said that it did not leave the ground.
The man, who would not give his name, said that the damage was caused by a "wheel alignment" problem that "put the whole aircraft out" and that the aircraft "did not actually take off."
He also said that because the aircraft is made of light material, it did not have to be going very fast to cause extensive damage.
Passer-by Barry Jackson, 61, from the UK, saw the plane after the incident at around 1.30pm on Wednesday. While an ambulance was on the scene, it was stationary and no casualties have been reported.
