Hitachi Data Systems to enter Middle East market
Hitachi Data Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd and a leading data storage solutions provider, is to enter the Middle East market for the first time.
The company has appointed three regional strategic partners: Sun Microsystems, STME and Naizak.
"The Middle East market is one that we recognise as having enormous growth potential. Until now, choice in the market has been limited and we are pursuing an aggressive market launch strategy to redress that situation," said Brian Moroney, general manager, MEMA (Middle East, Mediterranean and Africa) at Hitachi Data Systems.
"Hitachi views the Middle East as an important emerging market and we're deploying resources in the region to meet the very significant demand we are now seeing from local organisations."
Sun Microsystems is already a global Hitachi Data Systems partner, STME is a regional leader in enterprise storage technology solutions and Naizak is a specialised regional business solutions integrator and systems house.
All three appointments are effective immediately and will provide services with extensive regional in-country resources.
Recognised by Gartner Dataquest as the global leader in enterprise class storage, Hitachi Data Systems is backing Dubai's Storage World Middle East event as part of its market entry strategy.
It will be using the show to demonstrate its data lifecycle management (DLM) approach to data storage. The demonstration illustrates how companies should tackle their data storage issues by using a mix of management software and powerful, intelligent storage systems.
Hitachi Data Systems' storage solutions revolve around its key products: "People aren't just storing dumb data today. They need access to the images, the emails, the correspondence and other documents triggered by an event or a project.
"Data lifecycle management means the ability to access whole datasets from archival. Hitachi is undoubtedly a leader in these advanced, intelligent, storage management applications," Moroney added.
"There is a very real need in the region today for advanced enterprise storage systems, as well as a strong market for modular storage solutions and archival management systems in the business market. We believe that we have the products, solutions and service capabilities to meet that market demand."
