Laughter and wonder grew as the first few days of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) was heralded not just by hilarious characters walking around the Deira City Centre, but also by the huge stage that has become home to an exciting line-up of dancing and singing.
Hosting the show was the Magic Cat, a Siberian cat who conjured up each of the dance line-ups to music, and first on stage were three characters dressed up as the 'Box Man', 'Flower' and 'Bumble Bee', who got the crowds in City Centre aware of the event and flocking to the stage with their short dance routine.
Up next came a hilarious Wild West song and dance, as well as a rock-and-roll routine by the Australian troupe, the Paradise Performers.
Consisting of 12 children aged 12 to 14, the performers stole the moment with their vibrant and energy-filled act, and appreciated by huge rounds of applause from children and parents.
Altogether there is a varied line-up of entertainment shows performed on a daily basis, with different themes from week to week, reflecting DSS 2002.
Not only can visitors to Deira City Centre enjoy performances on the dedicated stage, but also be amused by the range of cartoon characters to be seen walking around the mall itself, such as the Amazing Creature Show and the Lunatrics, and all dressed in costumes to keep children entertained.
Shows start at 5:00 pm and finish at approximately 9:30 pm, with acts rotated daily to provide frequent visitors with an exciting variety of entertainment.
