UAE to become first Arab country to mark World Blood Donor Day
Dubai: UAE will become the first Arab country to mark World Blood Donor Day, a global initiative to be held on June 14, 2008.
The Minister of Health Humaid Mohammad Bin Mohammad Al Qutami made the announcement at a press conference held in Dubai on Wednesday, adding that the " UAE is proud to participate in such a crucial event."
The World Blood Donors Day will be held under the theme of "Giving blood regularly in support of National blood donor Programmes".
It is jointly held in coordination by the World Health Organisation along with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent, International Federation of Blood Donors Organisation and the International Society of Blood Transfusion.
