The Department of Medical Education (MED) is the sole entity in DHA responsible for provision of education and training of its staff. Educational and development opportunities for staff and healthcare professionals are provided within the framework of DHA’s mandate to encourage learning and development through quality training and educational activities in collaboration with world-class educational leaders.

The DRTP is a structured postgraduate educational training programme that aims to bridge the gap between medical undergraduate and specialised medical professions. The programme has announced its application open for the 2017 intake. It currently has 354 doctors who are receiving training.

Health education workshop takes place this month at medical education library

A residency research workshop is currently being held at Dubai’s Health Authority’s (DHA) Medical Education Library. A total of 72 medical residents in DHA are participating. Research is considered an important integrate in most residency training programmes. The Resident Research Program at Dubai residency training has been taking place for five years and incorporates a structured educational series alongside research workshops and open discussions. This workshop aims to help residents understand the concepts of designing a research study and writing the research proposal, while providing a foundation for residents to conduct research and develop a scientific way of thinking. The workshop is on till tomorrow.

The 4th International Family Medicine Conference & Exhibition kicks off

With the aim of promoting high standards of healthcare in family medicine, the fourth edition of the International Family Medicine Conference & Exhibition (IFM 2017) was inaugurated on Monday. Held under the patronage of H.H. Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, the annual event, attended by 3,000 specialists, saw more than 60 speakers deliver 14 sessions, 63 scientific posters and 10 workshops. H.E Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director General of DHA inaugurated the exhibition, emphasised how such events that provide a platform for specialists to share new concepts is important as they can improve people’s lives.
