Dubai: Dubai Municipality (DM) has called on residents to report any health and safety violations they come across in restaurants, salons, and beauty centers during this Ramadan.

The civic body is urging the public to remain vigilant and report concerns by contacting its dedicated helpline at 800900.

In a post on social media platform X, DM reminded the community of the importance of reporting health and safety violations: “If you come across any health and safety issues in restaurants, salons, or beauty centres this Ramadan, report them by calling 800900. Your safety matters!” the statement read.

DM added that any feedback or concerns about health and safety measures in these establishments should be communicated through the helpline, which is available 24x7.

The municipality’s call to action comes as part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring public health and safety throughout the year, but with a specific focus during the holy month, when public spaces are more crowded and the demand for services rises. DM’s proactive approach aims to address any potential violations quickly to protect residents and visitors.

Common violations

Previously, Gulf News reported that common violations the municipality regularly addresses include improper food storage, unhygienic food handling practices, improper waste management, and failure to comply with health regulations at beauty centres.

By reporting any violations, residents can help the municipality maintain high health and safety standards during Ramadan and beyond.

Intensified inspections

Prior to Ramadan, the civic body had intensified monitoring campaigns and field inspections to ensure public health and food safety during Ramadan, implementing proactive measures to uphold the highest safety standards across food establishments and event venues in the emirate.

The inspections covered markets, malls, food establishments, food warehouses, restaurants, bakeries, hypermarkets, hotels, salons, beauty centres, cafes, gaming areas, and labour accommodations, ensuring compliance with approved health and food safety regulations.

Appreciations also welcome

Dubai Municipality also expressed appreciation for the positive feedback it has received from residents. In another post, the civic body shared a message of thanks to a resident who praised the municipality’s efforts to improve public services. “We continuously work to improve quality of life and serve the community better. Your positive feedback inspires us to keep going,” DM said in its post.
