DHA used the first IAMRA conference in the Middle East to highlight its Unified Professional Qualification Requirement System
To streamline the process needed for healthcare professionals to get a license, the UAE has developed a Unified Professional Qualification Requirement system.
Dubai Health Authority (DHA) recently highlighted the benefits of this system at the 13th International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA) conference. It is taking place under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and President of DHA, at Dubai World Trade Centre.
This is the first time IAMRA is hosting a conference in the Middle East. DHA officials highlighted that in future, the authority will use AI technology to enhance the system, providing added convenience to healthcare professionals in the emirate as well as those who want to apply to work here.
His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Director General of DHA, thanked Shaikh Hamdan for his patronage and support for this conference.
“Regulation plays a major role in the healthcare industry,” says Al Qutami. “Healthcare regulations and standards are necessary to ensure compliance and to provide safe healthcare to every individual who accesses the system.”
He added that Dubai is proud to host the region’s first IAMRA conference.
“This conference is helping discuss key topics and emerging trends in the field,” said Dr Marwan Al Mulla, CEO of Health Regulation Sector at DHA. “It is in line with our aim to enhance existing regulatory systems to strengthen the health sector. Regulatory systems directly impact quality care provision.”
