Funds raised at Dubai event to help Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre
Dubai: A photograph captured by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, will be auctioned at a function in Dubai tomorrow.
Children from Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre will be the beneficiaries of the special auction.
In the "Stars Auction" organised by the Rashid Centre, the photograph captured and signed by Shaikh Hamdan and priced at Dh100,000 will be auctioned at the Madinat Jumeirah Hotel in Dubai following a gala dinner.
A photography enthusiast himself, Shaikh Hamdan launched the Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award to "promote global attention, create higher standards of performance and innovate in the field of photography."
Sahar Al Zari, assistant secretary general of the Award, said that "by participating in this event, the Award aims at supporting charitable projects organised by the Rashid Centre."
On the sidelines
Al Zari said, "One of the pictures will be selected from a collection of photographs taken by Shaikh Hamdan and signed by him to be displayed in the Stars Auction on the sidelines of the ceremony."
Rashid Centre director Mariam Othman thanked the Award for participating in the auction.
She said the fund raised at the auction will help Rashid Centre support its activities.
