Only licensed pharmacists can dispense medicines says Abu Dhabi authority

Abu Dhabi: The Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD) has issued a mandate asking all pharmacies to have licensed pharmacists on duty during business hours.

According to the circular, only a licensed pharmacist should dispense medicines and he or she would be responsible for the functioning of the pharmacy during business hours.

HAAD also issued another circular informing all pharmacies that it would be mandatory for all medical and pharmaceutical facilities to use a new triplicate controlled prescription form, which can be obtained from HAAD.

A copy will remain with the pharmacy, another one with the patient and a third with the insurance company.
