Dubai Health Authority (DHA) signed an memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Korea Health Industry Development Institute to exchange their experiences in the field of specialised medical training and to explore various avenues of collaboration in the health sector.
His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of DHA, and Dr Lee Young Chan, President of Korea Health Industry Development Institute, signed the MoU at DHA’s headquarters on Tuesday.
Al Qutami highlighted the importance of knowledge sharing and collaboration in today’s globalised world and highlighted the positive impact such collaborations have on patient care and on the growth of the overall health sector.
Best practices
The two sides will exchange their experiences in the field of specialised medical training and collaborate in healthcare services including medical tourism, technology, best practices and medical education.
Al Qutami said the UAE and South Korea already have a strong relationship and many joined goals and projects in different fields, which reflects the confidence in Korea’s experience and long experience in various fields, including the health field, which is developing rapidly in both countries.
He pointed out that the development policy implemented by DHA is open to the world including health institutions, specialised bodies, and anyone who wants to learn about DHA’s successful experiences in the health field.
Al Qutami added that DHA is keen to diversify its partnerships and take advantage of the successes of global institutions, while learning from their experiences.
He also praised the Korea Health Industry Development Institute’s methodology of work and achievements, especially those relating to training, rehabilitation and professional development, stressing that the next phase will see a new surge in the level of medical education, and a direct enhancement of the expertise and competences of the DHA in all disciplines.
Pride in cooperation
Dr Chan, on the other hand, expressed the institute’s appreciation and pride for opening new avenues of cooperation with the DHA, stressing that its association with an advanced institution such as DHA is an important addition to the institute’s achievements.
