Ministry withdraws 10mg and 60 mg medications containing domperidone

Dubai: The Ministry of Health has withdrawn medicines containing domperidone (10mg and 60 mg) due to cases of heart problems in patients using the medication.

The circular was issued following reports from the European Medicines Agency. The circular also instructed restricting the use of medication containing domperidone, which is used for relieving symptoms of nausea and vomiting. The circular specified that the medication should only be given in low doses and for no longer than a week.
